Solon Football Field
Solon Community School District – Football Field Improvements – Solon, Iowa – General Contractor – MBA Incorporated
Work included removal of the old natural grass playing surface – which consisted of removing 13” of dirt or approximately 4,000 cubic yards, load and haul away; along with removal of an existing long jump pit; irrigation system; and all other associated accessories associated with a football field. New drainage collector tile, 12” flat tile, 2 new long jump pits and runways, and other miscellaneous work was completed on this project. 400 loads of dirt was removed from the project and 400 loads of rock was installed for the artificial turf. Laser grading was done to a + or – ¼” and checked on a 10’ grid on entire field. Laser grading was done on multiple layers – dirt, layer of rock, and a second layer of rock. Work on this field began after the track season on
May 21, 2012 and turned over to the Turf contractor on July 17, 2012 for the turf installation.
