Highland Community School District – Track & Football Field Improvements – Riverside, Iowa
Work on this project included removing a 3” lift of the natural turf grass with a combinator that belts the spoils into a turf wagon, moving dirt for positive drainage, laser grading football field for positive drainage to a + or – ¼“, installing collector tile and drainage system, installing 2” turf flow tile, installing a long jump pit; discus circle; shot put circle and landing area; and installing goal posts. Coordination with the irrigation and seeding contractor to make sure project was ready for the Fall 2012 football season was also done. Coordination was also done with the General Contractor to make sure the concrete curb was placed in order to complete the football field and have grass by August’s first football game.
Work on this project started on April 12, 2013; seeding was done on May 18, 2012, the first home game was played on August 17, 2012. 11 home football games were played on this field in the Fall of 2012.
